Today see’s us with a day off here, in Québec, to celebrate La Fête Nationale du Québec or, St. John Baptiste day! Which should have seen a huge music concert, last night, out on the Plains of Abraham—which were, of course, cancelled, like so many other public gatherings. The usual attendances for this BIG party, the night before, is usually around the 300,000 to 500,000 people! Throw in some good music, lots of beer, and, at the end, a fireworks display to finish off the evening. And this is the ‘official’ start to Québec’s holiday season. Sad to say, I think we all missed not going out on the plains, last night to celebrate.
And yes, of course, like most years, it’s raining here, this morning.
